"'The Wager' is an excellent movie for church congregations around the nation."
Movie Night Effectiveness
"We just had our movie last Saturday night. It was an unbelievable event. You could have heard a pin drop while the credits rolled on the screen, then no one got up to leave. We offered people a chance to talk about what they had seen on the screen. Several people were extremely moved by the movie. We had around 300 in attendance; over half do not attend church regularly. One word sums it up . . . powerful! Thanks for letting us serve God,"
"It was one of the best Sunday night attendances I have seen in 15 plus years."
Small Church Testimonies
"We are a small church of 30-40, counting children, and we were still able to do this amazing event. We rented a big-screen TV, ran a newspaper ad, got free radio spots on the local Christian stations and at the event on our sign in front of the church. We gave out 100 tickets for New Year's Eve, and decided to do a second night, New Year's Day, when we had nearly 50 (27 from outside the church came despite 1-2 inches of snow flying). We had two couples attend this past Sunday's services as a result, numerous other contacts and one lady who is requesting a sit down with the pastor and is ready to know more about God. We had free refreshments both nights, donated by the families in the church. We sold 11 of 15 DVDs and anticipate selling the other four soon, so the cost of licensing the movie is $0. Then we did all the other things above for less than $200. We planned "Hidden Secrets" for Valentine's Day with a meal, but "The Wager" has been so successful we'll have to wait until fall. We just can't wait to do another movie night. Outreach, especially with this God-led group of dedicated and talented Christians, is MUCH less expensive than you might think. I can't urge you enough to try one for your church, especially if you are a pastor of a small church."
"The movie was well received by those who attended. One of the biggest reasons for showing this film was the quality of the story and cinematography. Being a small church, we were worried about recovering the cost of the film. We did recover the cost from the DVD sales and freewill offering."
Tips For A Successful Movie Night
1) "Begin promotion a month in advance."
2) "Make it a true movie night by adding a concession stand and permit the snacks to be eaten in the viewing room."
3) "Ask those who attend to give contact information if they would like to receive notice of future movie events."
Movie Content
"Like a lot of people I was a little concerned about the quality of acting, sets, and scripts. etc. in a straight-to-video movie, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the movie. And it had a very good message."
"We look for the Biblical message. 'The Wager' delivered an excellent message both as 'Job' in modern day thought and Jesus' instructions as to right and wrong to the modern day Christian. If it was ever wrong by Christ's teaching it still is."

"...outstanding ...It is an excellent opportunity to bring wholesome entertainment that is driven by the local church."
"I believe Outreach Cinema is a perfect tool in today's society for churches to use film to reach out to their community and make a difference in people's life."
"I have known David A.R. White for many years. He is a passionate filmmaker. Above all, what I most admire about David is his commitment to excellence and the way he uses his gifts and talents through film to continually bring people closer to God by lifting up Christ. Outreach Cinema is a perfect way to get more people to see these films and bring them closer to the Lord."
